My career as a “creative” has been rooted in the concept and practice of communication. Whether as a Graphic Designer, a Creative Director, a Non-Profit Director, or Marketing Director, my job was to know what we’re saying, to whom we’re saying it, why we’re saying it, where to say it, and how we’re going to say it. Starting out as a Graphic Designer provided me with the unique perspective on how to not only understand the messaging needed, but how to visually communicate it. This skill translates into the execution of everything from brand identity, strategic direct mail campaigns, ad campaigns, web site development, social media campaigns, SEO, and more. Having worked for agencies, in-house marketing departments, and small business clients, I’ve had the opportunity to fine-tune my messaging skills on both internal and external communications. And in all of these situations, complete organization, team management, and excellent writing skills were a must.
